CHAFFEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

Salida, Colorado

For Immediate Release.

On November 11, 2015, at approximately 6:22 a.m. the Chaffee County Communications Center received a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in a field off County Road 191.  When a Deputy arrived to investigate he discovered that the vehicle had clearly been involved in a motor vehicle accident.  Colorado State Patrol was notified and responded to investigate the accident.

Through the course of the investigation it was learned that the vehicle was stolen during a robbery in Alamosa yesterday.  Upon further investigation, it was determined that two of the suspects from the robbery may have been in the vehicle when it crashed and fled from the vehicle on foot.  Deputies from the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office and Officers from the Salida Police Department searched the area, and a Code Red alert was also sent to area residents.  Through joint cooperation with the Alamosa Police Department, Colorado State Patrol, and the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office, the suspects have been identified as 35 year old Eustaquio Poinciana Valenzuela and 31year old Angelo Espinoza.  One suspect was last seen wearing a light colored shirt and jeans and the other suspect was last seen wearing all black; they may possibly be armed.  It is not known if they are still in the area or not.

Members of the public are asked to call 911 immediately if you see either of these two individuals.
