Andy Rohrich is a lifelong resident of Chaffee County and a Salida High School graduate. He is also a graduate of Colorado Mountain College (Chaffee County) with a degree in law enforcement. Andy began working for the City of Salida in the Public Works Department in 1994 and stayed employed there until he attended the Southern Colorado Law Enforcement Training Academy in 1997.
Andy began his law enforcement career in 1998 after being hired by the Salida Police Department. In 2002 Andy accepted a position as a Deputy Sheriff with the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office. Andy has served multiple positions with the Sheriff’s Office to include Corporal, Sergeant, Detective, Lieutenant, Patrol Commander and now, Undersheriff. For the vast majority of his time spent with the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office Andy was the
lead investigator for all major cases.
Andy has served as a volunteer in the community in many facets to include liaison with Chaffee County Crime Stoppers, Salida Elks Lodge member, board of directors with the Alliance Against Domestic Abuse, Sexual Assault Response Team member, board member with Communities that Care, board member with Adult Treatment Care Team, Child Protection Team member, Adult Protection Team member and Domestic Violence Coalition Member, to name a few. Andy has also been a member of the Chaffee County Combined Drug Task Force since 2004.
