The Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for Uniformed Patrol Deputies. Starting annual salary is $67,347.00 + paid holidays. Benefits include paid vacation, sick, and personal leave, holiday pay, health insurance, retirement and disability insurance. If you are not Colorado POST Certified you may still qualify for a fully funded Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office sponsorship through a police academy. Applicants must be 21 years of age, possess a valid Colorado driver’s license with a good driving record, high school diploma (or equivalent) and not have any disqualifying incidents (https://post.colorado.gov/disqualifying-incidents) in their criminal history/ background. To qualify for sponsorship to a police academy the applicant must be a Chaffee County resident and willing to sign a contract with Chaffee County. If found to qualify and if selected, the sponsored academy cadet will be paid the starting deputy wage while attending the academy. The cost of the police academy, room and board and meals will be covered by the Sheriff’s Office. Detention Deputy – Annual salary starts at $52,419 plus holiday pay (apprx $2,700)

• Detentions Deputies are required to be at least 18 years of age.  Duties include supervision and care of inmates as well as case management.  No experience necessary.
