After conferring with local fire department administration, we will allow agricultural (ditch) burning between sunrise and 10am, on Wednesday and Thursday April 20th and 21st. All burns must be called in to Chaffee County Dispatch (719-539-2596) and must be completely extinguished by 10AM.  Thank you

Once again, we have high winds predicted this week.  There will be “no open burn days” on Monday and Tuesday, April 18th and 19th in unincorporated Chaffee County.

The National Weather Service is once again predicting strong sustained winds and higher gusts over 30 mph for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Based on this information NO burning will be allowed for these days and NO burn permits will be issued.
