On August 5, 2019 the Chaffee County Communications Center received a call of a shooting at a residence in Poncha Springs.

Personnel from the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office and the Salida Police Department responded to the residence and found 1 person suffering from gunshot wounds.

The victim was transported to HRRMC for treatment by Chaffee County EMS.

This investigation is ongoing and more information will be released as soon as possible.

There is no threat or danger to the residents of Poncha Springs.
