The Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office is organizing an evidentiary excavation in the foot hills of Mt. Shavano along C.R. 250 searching for further human remains of Beverly England and any further evidence that may have led to her death. The excavation will begin  Monday (September 24th), and will be completed Friday, (September 29th). The search will be in the area between C.R. 250 and “Washout Road”.

The Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office is asking residents to stay out of this immediate area as it is considered a crime scene and will be staffed 24 hours each day of the search for security purposes.

The search and excavation will be a very detailed operation utilizing law enforcement from both the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office and the Salida Police Department, as well as multiple agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, (FBI). Also assisting with the search are multiple cadaver dog teams and multiple anthropologists who will be on site.

Also assisting with the operation and search is the Chaffee County Coroners Office.
