Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office Detective Robin Burgess has identified the male party responsible for the string of burglaries to businesses during the late-night hours of Friday, June 15th and the early morning hours of Saturday, June 16th in Salida and Poncha Springs as Joseph Hodge, age 56, of Jacksonville Florida. An arrest warrant has been issued for Hodge’s arrest citing six counts of second degree burglary (class four felonies), six counts of first degree trespass (Class five felonies), six counts of criminal mischief (misdemeanor), two counts of misdemeanor theft and one count of petty offense theft. Bond was set at $20,000.00.

Hodge is at large still wanted on these charges as of the time of this press release. The Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office has no reason to believe that Hodge is still in the Chaffee County area.

Detective Burgess was able to identify the suspect after contacting several law enforcement agencies both in Colorado and out of state in regards to recent burglaries in their jurisdictions.
