The Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office along with the Salida and Buena Vista Police Departments, Colorado State Patrol and Colorado Parks and Wildlife took part again this year in the Annual Shop with a Cop event. Seventeen Officers took part in the event along with 12 local children. With assistance from the Officers, the children purchase gifts for thier family members. Each child also recieves a Santa stocking filled with gifts and personal items for themselves. A participating Deputy stated, “Bringing joy to the childrens faces is more than worth our time. It’s hard to tell who has the most fun, the Officers or the children!”
