Sgt Jeff Stephens of the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office visits with the children at Son Shine Inn each year to help build a positive relationship between police and children . The ultimate goal of Sgt Stevens is to make a connection with the children so that they feel safe going to an officer when they are in need of help. He talks with the children about the role of law enforcement in our community, shows the children his patrol car and how the lights, sirens and radio are used. The children enjoyed learning how fingerprints are found and lifted and that everyone has different fingerprints, toe prints and lip prints. This is the 8th year that he has visited the children at Son Shine Inn.
