The Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office has concluded its investigation into the first Sexting incident at the Buena Vista High School which was reported to the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office on December 7th, 2015. This case has now been referred to the District Attorney’s Office for consideration of charges on 5 juvenile students of the school.

Since beginning this investigation two more Sexting cases have been reported at BVHS and the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office is beginning to investigate these new cases.

Once again these cases illustrate the importance of parental involvement with their children in regards to cell phone use and content as well as all use of social media.

The Buena Vista School District is hosting an informational forum on social media use and safety on January 14th at the Buena Vista High School. This is an excellent opportunity to receive safety tips and information as well a chance to speak to school staff in regards to these issues.
