Over the past two weeks the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office has received complaints of sexting incidents at both the McGinnis Middle School and the Buena Vista High School. Both cases involved students of those schools and are currently under investigation by the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office.

We at the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office want parents throughout our county to be aware of these situations and as always be both mindful and vigilant with your children in regards to what is appropriate use of all forms of electronic communication devices and social media forums. These incidents are becoming more prevalent with all age groups and parent involvement and intervention are key to prevention.
