Arrest made in Poncha Mini Storage Burglary investigation.

Joshua (Josh) Ross Oswald, a 40 year old Salida resident, was arrested Monday morning in connection with a burglar that occurred at the Poncha Mini Storage Units sometime during the weekend of March 6th, 2015. A single storage unit, belonging to P and G Painting was broken into and several pieces of specialized painting equipment were stolen from the unit. Oswald is a former employee of P and G Painting and was familiar with the storage unit and what was kept there.

The investigation led Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office Detectives to a pawn shop in Colorado Springs where some of the stolen items were pawned. Detective Sergeant Andy Rohrich worked closely with Colorado Springs Police Department investigators during the investigation, identifying Oswald as the suspect in the burglary. Det. Sgt. Rohrich successfully obtained a warrant for Oswald’s arrest, charging him with Second Degree Burglary and Theft, both felonies. Oswald’s bond was set at $15,000. He was arrested Monday morning without incident.
