sheriff seeks information on missing person
Lee Ochs, age 37, of Salida has been missing since October 31, 2012. He was last seen by his parents on October 29 early in the morning on his way to work. At that time Mr. Ochs was employed by a construction company and was working at a site near the Climax Mine north of Leadville. Mr. Ochs was seen at work on October 31 but asked to leave early that day and did not return to work the next day. On November 18 Mr. Ochs’s vehicle was found abandoned on Methodist Mountain at the end of CR 110 in Chaffee County. Although no signs of foul play were found inside the car, a lot of Mr. Ochs’s personal items were found inside including his medication and cellphone.
Mr. Ochs was on probation in Chaffee County at the time of his disappearance for crimes he was accused of committing in another county several years earlier. By all known accounts Mr. Ochs was in good standing with his probation officer at the time of his disappearance. Because his weekly responsibilities with probation were not met when he disappeared a nationwide arrest warrant has been issued by the Arapahoe County District Court.
Lee Ochs is a white male, 37 years of age, 6’01” tall, approximately 210 pounds and has a muscular build. He has short blond hair and blue eyes. Anyone with information concerning Mr. Ochs’s whereabouts is asked to contact Detective Andy Rohrich, Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office, at 719-530-5729; or Chaffee County Crime Stoppers at 719-539-5299.
