The following is a press release composed by Salida Police Chief Terry Clark.

On September 17, 2012 the Chaffee County Drug Task Force executed 4 Felony arrest warrants in Salida and Chaffee County. The arrests stem from several months of work by the task force.  

The 4 people arrested are charged with unlawful distribution of drugs, a class 3 felony, possession of a schedule 2 controlled substance, a class 6 Felony. Of the 4 local residents arrested, 2 females and 2 males- all are being held on charges in the Chaffee County Detention Facility, each on a $50,000.00 bond.  The drugs involved in these cases are primarily Prescription Narcotics. Each defendant will be formally arraigned in Chaffee District Court.

Arrested were COREY JUSTIN ROSS 26 yr old W/M of Salida, JAMES PAUL  WILCOX- 28 yr old W/M of Salida, JESSICA LYNN ROWE- 27 yr old W/F of Salida and CECILIA MARIE ORTA-KEVILUS- 23 yr old W/F of Salida.

The Chaffee County Drug Task force is comprised of law enforcement officers from the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office, District Attorney’s Office and Salida Police Dept.  The task force worked in cooperation with Colorado Bureau of Investigations and several other neighboring agencies. This particular operation has been long and involved a lot of law enforcement personnel- who dedicated a lot of hours to this operation.
