Chaffee County Coroner Randy Amettis informed the sheriff’s office today that the death of David Butler, 46, who died in a barn fire near Buena Vista on March 8, has been declared by the coroner to be a suicide.  The determination is based on autopsy results, evidence collected by arson investigators at the fire scene, and law enforcement reports of Butler’s movements and statements leading up to the fire that caused his death.
